What's on in and around Durban this week.

THE recovery support group, GriefShare, meets at Glenwood Presbyterian Church on Saturday mornings at 10.30am.

This is an international, non-denominational support course. Each session is stand-alone, and one may join at any stage of the 13-week course.

THE Craft Club from the KZN Society for the Blind will host its annual sale at Westville Mall on Thursday 25 June from 9am to 3pm.

There will be a variety of knitted and crochet work on sale that has been created by the members and volunteers over the past year.

THE public is invited to a Jumble Sale on 26 June at the Child Welfare Durban and District premises on 20 Clarence Road, from 9am to 1pm.

There will be lots of goodies on sale, such as bric-brac, toys, books and more on sale. Funds generated from this project will go towards the provision of child protection for the children in the Welfare's care

UMBILO Congregational Church, 498 Bartle Road, Umbilo, will host Wally's Braai this Friday 26 June from 5.30pm, and a flea market this Saturday 27 June from 7am to noon.

ST Cyprian's Church will host a fete on Saturday 27 June from 8am to 2pm at 603 Umbilo Road.

Something for everyone. DJ Dave Arnold will entertain in the beer garden and there will be food from the Curry Den, hot lunches, hamburgers, wors rolls and stalls including handcrafts, toys, books, white elephant, jewellery, cakes and more.

ANIMAL Anti-Cruelty League will hold an adoptions day on 27 June from 9am to 1pm.

The kennels and cat haven will be open for viewing and adoptions. Find bargains at the charity shop and enjoy refreshments at the tea garden.

THE Tibet Society film event is on Sunday 28 June at The Breathing Space, Bulwer Road, Glenwood, from 10am.

DURBAN Art Deco Society will do a walkabout of the art deco interior Rotunda of Howard College and the UKZN Memorial Tower Building on Sunday 28 June at 10am.

The tour will be conducted by Professor Franco Frescura. Cost is R35 for DADS members and R40 for visitors.

ON Sunday 28 June at 10am, Thabani Zondi, Westville prison chaplain, will be the speaker at the Durban Unitarian Fellowship meeting at the British Cultural and Heritage Association, Berea Bowling Club, off Ferguson Road, Glenwood. All are welcome to attend and to enjoy refreshments afterwards.

TREE will host an Open Day and AGM at the TREE head office , 69 Krishna Road, Briardene, Durban North, on Monday 29 June.

Visitors are invited to go along and spend a few hours with the organisation and learn how important playing and early childhood development is.

GLENWOOD CANSA Support Group meeting is at 6pm on Thursday 2 July at the CANSA offices, 619 Umbilo Road.

This month yoga teacher, Mr Howard Lipschitz, will help people discover why Tai Chi and Chi Kung are beneficial to health and healing. He will teach eight different movements which are simple to learn and do at home. Wear comfortable clothes which are easy to move in. The meetings are open to all people with cancer and their families and supporters. There is no cost and tea is served after the demonstration. Safe parking is available.
