Mac Maharaj treated for post-surgery complications

A team of doctors is also attending to former presidential spokesperson Mr Mac Maharaj.

President Jacob Zuma has extended his good wishes to his former spokesperson Mr Mac Maharaj following reports of complications arising from recent surgery.

According to a statement issued by the presidency, Mr Maharaj was admitted to a hospital in Durban on Thursday 21 May where he underwent surgery for lung cancer.
The operation was successful but there were complications in the post operation conditions. A team of highly competent doctors and staff are focusing on stabilising his condition.
Updates on his medical condition will only be issued when there is significant change.
