Enter junior super chef competition

HIRSCH’S and Defy have launched the first, of what they hope will be many, Junior Super Chef competitions, with children from the ages of eight to 13 being invited to enter.

The competition starts in May and runs through to July when the finals will be held.

Commenting on the reason behind Hirsch’s involvement, CEO of the Hirsch Group, Allan Hirsch said: “We have noticed a lot of interest from children with regards to the cooking appliances that we stock. This has made us realise that there is an opportunity for Hirsch’s to assist with the encouragement of young chefs. We really believe it’s a great opportunity to encourage children to learn to use appliances correctly from a young age as well as assisting in the kitchen. We have been excited at the response we have had so far.”

He said Hirsch's partnered with Defy – a leading brand of cookware in South Africa – to run this fun and exciting project in all its stores. Young chefs will get an opportunity to cook with recently launched products in front of an audience.

Prizes include appliances and products from Defy, products from the Jamie Oliver Range and Hirsch gift vouchers.
