THREE men were arrested by the Durban Central Field Unit for theft and card robbery last Saturday.
According to Captain Kephu Ndlovu, Durban Central communications officer, the three suspects were arrested by Durban Central field unit after being caught on CCTV camera robbing the ATM at the corner of Aliwal and West Street.
“The suspects were using a silver grey Polo vehicle which was hired at King Shaka airport to commit the crime. It is alleged that a 26-year-old woman was at the ATM when she was approached by two suspects who tried to rob her,” said Ndlovu.
The woman’s card was taken by the suspects, but the CCTV camera spotted the suspects. The Durban Central field unit members responded immediately and arrested the suspects. The Polo used in the crime was recovered.
