Glenwood woman hit by bus

A woman in her fifties is fighting for her life after she was hit by a bus along Clark Road near the Manning Road intersetion in Glenwood this morning.

Chris Botha, spokesman for Netcare 911 said advanced life support paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patient lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries.

“Paramedics worked tirelessly to stabilise her, after placing her on a manual ventilator and skilfully immobilising her on a trauma board, they transported her to a local hospital for the care that she required,” he explained.

Botha was unable to give exact detail as to how the Glenwood woman was struck by the bus but did say the accident was subject to police investigation.
