Durban ranked as emerging business centre

Durban has been rated SA’s city with the highest quality of living.

DURBAN is back in the news headlines after being rated SA’s city with the highest quality of living and was ranked as a city emerging as a world business centre.

This comes as a result of the latest Mercer’s Quality of Living Rankings survey, an international survey which covers 230 prevalent destinations for globally mobile talent and assesses quality of living conditions to help multinational companies and other employers fairly compensate employees when placing them on international assignments.

While the city’s crime problems keep it from reaching the top 50, assessment of factors such as political and social environment, economic environment, socio-cultural environment, medical and health considerations, schools and education, public services and transportation, recreation, consumer goods, housing and natural environment, ranked it 85 out of 230.

The city was recently named an official New 7 Wonder City of the World, together with other leading cities like Beirut, Doha, Havana, Kuala Lumpur, La Paz and Vigan, and was rated by among the top 10 in the list of ’52 Cities to visit in 2015′ by the New York Times Travel magazine.
