Brettonwood High pupils spray for Cansa

Brettonwood High School held a Sprayathon to raise funds for CANSA on Friday.

BRETTONWOOD High School had some fun for a worthy cause when they supported CANSA with a Sprayathon at the school on Friday.

CANSA’s community mobiliser, Linda Cipolla, was thrilled with the support from the school. “This is CANSA’s first Sprayathon at Brettonwood High and we look forward to a continued relationship to bring cancer awareness to the young people in our community in fun ways. CANSA is grateful to headboy, Sanele Ngube and Janet George an educator, who organised this fabulous event,” she said.

At least R2500 was raised from the event after hundreds of pupils and some teachers sprayed their hair for CANSA.

Sanele Ngube said his involvement in activities led him to meet Linda Cipolla while doing cancer awareness in the community. “We decided to get everyone involved and asked for any amount of their choice to donate,” he added.

Janet George, the organiser of the event sai, cancer has been a cause close to the hearts of the pupils at Brettonwood especially after the school lost two pupils, Mitchel Mncube and Mvelo Masondo to the disease last year.

If you would like to be involved or host an event please get in touch with CANSA on 031 205 9525 or write to Linda at lcipolla@cansa.org.za for information.
