SYDENHAM SAPS arrested three people for possession of drugs last week.
Police officers were doing their normal crime prevention duties when they saw a what they felt was a suspicious vehicle, and decided to stop it.
They searched the vehicle and found 200 straws of whoonga.
The 19-year-old suspect was taken to his flat in Brickfield Road where a quantity of heroin was seized and another 30-year-old suspect was arrested. Later the same night police swooped on a house in Ribes place, Asherville, where they seized 200 straws of whoonga and arrested a 50-year-old suspect.
All three suspects were arrested for possession of drugs.
Provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the success and thanked the police for the arrest of these criminals.
