Funds raised for Sisterhood project

A cyclist has helped the Sisterhood of Temple David to make a difference in children's lives.

THE Sisterhood of Temple David received a surprise visitor at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, 11 November.

Daryl Harris, a member of the Durban Progressive Jewish Congregation and an avid cyclist, in full riding gear with his bicycle, popped in to tell the women that through sponsorships from friends and clients of his rides in the Amashova Cycle Race on 12 October and the One Tonner Race in Cape Town on 18 October, he has raised R30 000 in aid of the Sisterhood’s project at Nwedwe.

The Sisterhood is renowned for its social responsibility and outreach programmes and help support approximately 125 child-headed families in the Nwedwe area near Durban, a creche as well a hospice for terminal patients.

A deeply grateful group of women thanked Daryl for his enormous effort on their behalf as well as the generous sponsors who supported Daryl.
