Red-nose blitz for Clowns Without Borders

Clown alert!

Thousands of clowns worldwide will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Clowns Without Borders (CWB) on Sunday, 23rd of November. As part of the fun, they’ll be decorating public statues with 1000 red noses in Paris, Brussels, Dublin, New York, Stockholm, Helsinki, Portland, Montreal, Munich, London, Cape Town ….and Durban!

Starting in the City gardens opposite the Durban City Hall, and working down to the embankment, a bevy of clowns will be busy adorning statues with red noses and entertaining passersby with their antics.

As always, their aim is to raise a smile and laughter from their audience, and lighten the hearts and minds of children and their carers.

Clowns Without Borders SA (CWBSA) is delighted to be part of this celebration which also marks the 25th Anniversary of the Child Right Convention, and aims to raise awareness of their work helping “Children to be Children again”.

The importance of entertaining children, attending to their emotional well-being, and educating caregivers in areas of crisis, assumes even more importance today.

CWBSA not only works with communities in our own country , but undertakes projects in other parts of Africa including Kenya, Swaziland and most recently, Sudan.
