Three men arrested for the murder of Kurtlee Pillay.

Three men have been arrested for the murder of Kurtlee Pillay.

Major Thulani Zwane KZN police spokesman said Sydenham police arrested suspects allegedly responsible for the death of the 20-year-old student.

“Three suspects aged between 20 and 26 were arrested on Wednesday, 5 November and they will be charged for murder. They will appear in Durban Magistrates’ Court soon,” he said.

Pillay was found dead with multiple stab wounds at the corner of West Riding Row and Summit Drive, Sherwood on Tuesday, 4 November at about 22:15,.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was allegedly stabbed and dragged on the tarred-road. The motive of the killing is yet to be established,” added Zwane.

The KZN Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni acclaimed Sydenham police for the swift arrests.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information from witnesses on the murder of another Durban student, Shrivaar Panday, who was killed on Monday.
