DURBAN lost a second young student to crime this week when Kurtlee `Ownhouse’ Pillay was killed after a brutal assault and alleged hijacking.

According to Netcare911’s Chris Botha the young student died after being brutally assaulted in West Riding Row Street at around 22.30pm on Tuesday.

“Paramedics found a very gravely injured man with multiple stab wounds and abrasions from allegedly being dragged along a road, lying on the ground,” said Botha.

Soon after paramedics arrived, Kurtlee went into cardiac arrest.

“We worked fervently to resuscitate the man, tragically though, despite all efforts he died at the scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained,” said Botha.

Sydenham police, Communications Officer Myen Lazarus said three men were taken in for questioning on Wednesday morning.

“The vehicle used in the incident was circulated and Metro Police located it in South Beach where the suspects were arrested,” Lazarus said.

Kurtlee “Ownhouse” Pillay was a student at the Centre for Fine Art Animation and Design in Morningside.
