Sherwood pupil secures Oprah school bursary

Sherwood Primary is proud of Noluthando Dlamini who was accepted to the Oprah School.

SHERWOOD Primary is exceptionally proud of one of their star pupils, Noluthando Dlamini who was accepted to study at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls next year.

The grade seven pupil said she applied for the bursary because she knew her mother would not be able to afford to send her to a very good school. “I was very confident because my teachers, mum and sister really supported and motivated me,” she said.

Noluthando was selected from an initial 6000 girls who applied in March this year. “I was really happy to get to the second round of tests where there were about 3000 girls, and when they brought it down to 152 and we were taken for a visit of the school and facilities, I didn't want to leave,” she said laughing.
