Gunmen open fire on motorist

Gunmen opened fire on a motorist and his young passenger on Vause Road earlier this afternoon.

THREE gunmen opened fire on a Durban motorist as he was driving past Durban High School in Vause Road, earlier this afternoon.

Three shots fired by the balaclava-wearing gunmen hit the man’s Mazda bakkie in which he and a young boy were travelling. According to reports, the man was coming from a nearby mall when a white Audi pulled out in front of him near DHS and two of the three occupants got out and opened fire on him.
He reversed his bakkie and managed to get away, hitting a tree in his attempt to escape and headed towards the nearby police station on Peter Mokaba Road.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
