Gardening handbook on offer at indigenous fair

The latest Indigenous Gardening Handbook will be available to indigenous gardening fundis at this weekend's plant fair.

BOTSOC celebrates its 16th year of indigenous plant fairs this month, and will again present avid gardeners with the popular and comprehensive Indigenous Gardening Handbook.

Themed Gardening Naturally, BotSoc is going back to basics. The handbook is about using natural fertilisers, natural pest control, plants for shady slopes or for hot dry areas, groundcovers as a mulch, designing complete habitats, crassulaceae plants that attract beautiful butterflies, and more articles.

The handbook articles which are tried and tested, are written by well-known gardening authors and landscapers. Some of these authors will be present at the plant fair to answer questions, identify plants and give expert advice.

The handbook contains an extensive catalogue of indigenous plants with descriptions and advice on growing conditions and special features. Wise gardeners will make sure they have their handbook in hand to enable them to make the most of the floral bonanza at the plant fair.

Nurseries and landscapers are listed with addresses and contact numbers.

This gardening gem is only R25 and is available at the fair and at selected outlets in the week before the fair. See stockists on the website: www.indigenousplantfair.org.za
