Embracing recycling

Manor Gardens Primary School have collected the most clothes for the Clothes 2 Cash Exchange.

MANOR Gardens Primary School participated in a recycling programme with Clothes to Cash Exchange which is a social enterprise that recycles clothing to benefit the local community by creating jobs at sorting facilities and starting micro businesses.

The children collected a gross weight of 921.5 kg and have the highest participation rate this year in KZN, Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Melody Buthelezi received the lucky draw prize, Nandi Tshabalala received first place for collecting the most clothes in the school. Grade 5 Marshall-Connellan collected the most clothes as a class, with Azraa Saib, Kelsey Scholtz, Ethan McDaniel, Mrs Marshall-Connellan, Emma Rixon, Olwami Goneke, Jessica Jolley, Matthew Van Vuuren, Sophia Brink, Thiyagan Sarugaser, Luke Fowler and Sbonga Sibisi collecting the most amounts of clothes individually.
