Pupils enjoy golden hours at sailing outing

Golden Hours School pupils were treated to a warm winter's day outing at the Durban Radio Boat Club.

A GROUP of pupils from Golden Hours School in Durban North were treated to a warm winter's day outing at the Durban Radio Boat Club last week.

It was the perfect day for the model boats to set sail on the 70-year-old Blue Lagoon Model Boat Pond, with a small breeze edging on the perfectly sculpted model boats.

The pupils were hosted by the Durban Radio Boat Club's aptly named retired group, Professional Loafers, who meet at the pond every Wednesday. The Professional Loafers treated the children to snacks and refreshments, showed them how to sail radio controlled boats and ended the day off with a braai.

Vice commodore of the club, Roy Lorentz, said the Durban Radio Boat Club meets at the pond every Sunday from 8.30am to 12.30pm and added that new members are always welcome.
