Diesel shortage interrupts bus service

While municipal buses continue to leave commuters stranded this week, eThekwini municipality apologises for the inconvenience.

ETHEKWINI municipality apologised to commuters that were left stranded at schools and work this week due to a municipal bus service interruption.

Municipal spokesman Thabo Mofokeng said the municipality received a notification from the Municipal bus operator, Tansnat Management that it was experiencing a diesel shortage in all the depots within the City, which resulted in service interruption.

“The Municipality wishes to apologise to all commuters for the inconvenience caused. We also request that customers try to make alternative travel arrangements during this interruption. We are engaging with the operator to ensure that this service is restored soon,” he added.

At the time of going to press, Mofokeng could not tell Berea Mail when the bus service would be restored to business as usual.
