Elderly pampered on Mandela Day

Tuinsig residents were not forgotten on Mandela Day this year.

ON the day when the nation celebrated the legacy of Madiba, info4africa responded by visiting with the residents of Tuinsig Centre for the Aged.

Connecting communities through service is exactly what info4africa, a self-funded Centre of the School of Applied Human Sciences at UKZN, strives to do. This organisation provides a directory of health and wellbeing service care providers for all of the provinces in South Africa.

Thanks to the generous donation of Pravesh Choonilall of Queensmead Spar, whose team provided a beautiful cake, the participants were able to enjoy an afternoon full of food, laughter, and music. info4africa’s Director, Debbie Heustice and operations manager, Dianne Merchant’s sons delighted the residents with live music.

Small gift bags were distributed, sponsored by Malcolm Vishwanathan of Davenport Checkers who provided chocolate and Lucy Venter of African Extracts who provided specialty Rooibos creams for the tenants and a gift hamper for the winner of a lucky draw.
