uShaka team spread joy in honour of Mandela

Boys were treated to a day at uShaka Marine World on Mandela Day.

SEVENTY-SIX young boys aged between five and 18 from St Theresa's Orphanage in Sydenham welcomed the uShaka mascots and 100 staff from uShaka Marine World to celebrate Madiba Day.

School principal, Debbie Bowes, was so overwhelmed by the support from uShaka Marine World that she couldn't fully express the gratitude felt by both herself and the boys. She said for the past 86 years, the St Theresa's Children's Home had provided accommodation and care for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Stella Khumalo, uShaka Marine World's chief executive officer, was excited that so many of the uShaka team stepped up and shipped out to lend their support and honour the memory of Nelson Mandela. In the spirit of the day, her message centred on giving love and hope not only to St Theresa's, but to all South Africans.
