Recycling is education

uShaka Sea World encouraged school pupils to take up recycling.

ADDINGTON Primary School Grade 4s were among 419 Grade 4 and 5 pupils who took up a recycling challenge set out by uShaka Sea World staff as a fun assignment.

The challenge was to take recyclable items such as bottles and plastic and turn them into a shark or dolphin creations to be used in a fun competition which will see them each racing their creations in the Adventure River, otherwise known as the lazy river, a 450m-adventure river ride around uShaka Marine World theme park.

While making their marine creations in anticipation for this fun day out, they also learnt fun ways of recycling, saying ‘no to pollution’ and using their creative and artistic ability in an educational way.

“These children have taken marine conservation to another level and are out to prove that being environmentally aware is not only good for the planet but it can be fun too,” said uShaka Sea World’s, Ann Kunz.
