Learn about Biomimicry

Find out what biomimicry is and what it does, at the BotSoc KZN AGM.

CLAIRE Janisch, the founder and director of BiomimicrySA, will speak on Biomimicry – Innovation Inspired by Nature – at the BotSoc KZN Coastal Branch AGM on Sunday, 20 July, at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre at 3pm.

Every so often an idea comes around that is a game changer. After we hear it and understand it, we never see the world quite the same ever again. Biomimicry is such an idea. It shows that a sustainable world already exists. Innovative solutions to our sustainability and other design challenges already exist within nature and have been tested over eons to be truly effective. Nature’s ecosystems offer a vision of a world that works for life rather than against it. Biomimicry offers a practical approach to get there.

Claire ‘s presentation will introduce the field of biomimicry, including inspiring case studies to illustrate, with a focus on the world of plants and what we are learning from them.

There is no charge. Refreshments will be served. All welcome. RSVP for catering purposes to: email:botsoc-kzn@mweb.co.za or 031 2015111, 071 8 693 693.
