Brutal murder shocks Musgrave

THE woman who was found brutally murdered opposite Florida Road on Tuesday morning is believed to have been a vagrant who was “totally harmless” according to a member of the community in the area.

Ingrid Lotter-Smith, the owner of Artisan Gallery on Florida Road was horrified when she learned what happened to the woman.

“We arrived this morning to all this activity with police, security and ambulances. It is so awful, she was an older woman, a vagrant who never bothered anyone or asked for money or food. I usually saw her as I came into the gallery in the mornings. She quietly went about her business, just a presence there.”

Lotter-Smith said the woman was “totally harmless” and would sit in the same vacant piece of land where she was killed, or at the bus stop with a few packets that she always had with her.

Gray Braatvedt, Florida Road UIP manager, confirmed the woman was a vagrant who slept in the vacant piece of land.

“The murder was completely out of the ordinary and certainly an uncommon occurrence in the area,” he said.
