TWO men, including a restaurant manager were arrested on Saturday by Sydenham police for allegedly setting up and carrying out a robbery of the restaurant’s takings for the day on Moses Kotane (Sparks) Road.
According to a police source, the man who had robbed an employee and the manager of the restaurant tried to get away but community members noticed the incident and caught him with the money and a toy gun and handed him over to arresting police.
“The victim (38) was with his staff members when they were approached by the suspects at gunpoint and demanded cash from him before fleeing the scene,” said Police spokesman, Captain Thulani Zwane.
The suspect along with the alleged victim were later arrested and charged.
