Musgrave Centre throws its support behind SOB

Musgrave Centre will support Save Our Berea's campaign against crime and grime.

A recent meeting between the Save Our Berea working committee and Musgrave Centre Management regarding the deterioration of the area around Musgrave Centre has borne fruit with Musgrave Centre’s General Manager, Tracy Williamson, on behalf of the owner, releasing a statement this week confirming the centre’s support of SOB’s attempts to clean up the area from crime and grime.

“Musgrave Centre places on record its approval of the ‘Save Our Berea’ campaign. Musgrave Centre underwent a major revamp some 18 months ago, and by so doing boosting the area and putting Berea back on the map. As one of the major ratepayers in the area, the owners of Musgrave Centre look forward to Council’s co-operation in improving various aspects in the area.“

Cheryl Johnson said the civic group was delighted with the centre’s confirmation and support of its campaign.

She said a number of issues had been raised with the centre management some of which included the neglect of roads and pavements around Musgrave Centre, the number of vagrants, beggars and self-appointed car guards who congregated around the centre harassing shoppers and the illegal ranking of metered taxis at the entrance and exit to the centre
