Port Natal wins Team Talk competition

Port Natal School won the Team Talk Competition, against top English-speaking schools.

PORT Natal High School won the 34th Rotary district 9370 and Daily News Team Talk competition at UKZN Howard College on 25 March.

The team members were Sue-Ann Botha, Chante Albertyn and Margot van der Merwe. They competed against four other top English schools in the finals.

The team’s topic, Social networking: A Dream or a nightmare had been chosen by the girls and they themselves had worked out the presentation.

Hillview Secondary School, in Newlands East, came second, South City Christian College came third, Danville Park Girls’ High and St Dominic’s Academy of Newcastle were among the top five.

More than 50 schools competed this year and went through the preliminary and semi-final rounds.

Port Natal School’s principal, Sandra du Toit, said she was extremely proud of her team’s performance especially as they competed against top English-speaking schools.
