Two arrested for drug possession

The Flying Squad Narcotics team arrested two men for possession of heroin.

MEMBERS from the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team struck again on Wednesday, 12 March, this time in the Durban CBD when they arrested two suspects and recovered drugs with the street value of more than R200 000.

The team members were on patrol in Durban when they followed up information about drugs in the area. They spotted the suspects and searched them. The men were found in possession of heroin and pure uncut heroin. The members arrested the alleged drug dealers and charged them for dealing in drugs.

The two suspects, aged 24 and 29, are due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today, 13 March, facing charges of dealing in drugs.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni, congratulated the Narcotics Task Teams for their continued efforts in eradicating drug dealers within the province. “We are very pleased that our members have not loosened their grip on drug dealers. Drug dealers must know that their days are numbered,” she said.
