Armed robbery in Manor Gardens

A family was held up by eight armed robbers on Tuesday night.

A FAMILY was held up by eight armed men in their home in Manor Gardens on Tuesday night.

The home owner and his wife had been sitting on the veranda and were allegedly followed inside by the men, after they had climbed over the fence.

The men held up the couple and their 17-year-old daughter and went through the house, taking jewellery, cellphones, appliances and a television. The family was told to lie on the floor and a mattress and blankets were thrown on top of them.

The men took the owner’s car keys, however they did not take the car. The owner called his neighbour, after he thought the robbers had left, and the neighbour pressed his panic button.

Police spokesman Thulani Zwane said no arrests had been made.
