15 pupils injured in M7 crash

Fifteen pupils were injured in a three vehicle collision on the M7 Durban-bound just after 3pm on Tuesday. According to Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, a taxi and two trucks collided in the incident.

The taxi rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels. Paramedics found fifteen pupils with various injuries lying next to the mangled wreck.

More ambulances were called to assist with transporting the injured children, who were stabilized and transported to various Durban hospitals.

It is unclear what caused the collision, however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected as the M7 had to be closed whilst emergency personal worked to treat the injured.
