Schoolboy’s fingers amputated.

A schoolboy was rushed to hospital after portions of his fingers were amputated by a concrete slab.

A 10-year-old boy lost portions of three fingers when a concrete slab fell on him at a school athletics event in Durban this afternoon.

ER24 was on standby at Kings Park Athletics Stadium when the boy was playing on the 1-meter high concrete wall. While he was playing, a slab broke off the wall and fell on his right hand severing his fingers.

Paramedics said the boy was stable and calm as they treated and transported him to Addington Hospital.
