Durban rockers jet off to Up The Creek Fest

Habit To will head to Cape Town to play in the Up the Creek Music Festival this weekend.

DURBAN rock outfit Habit To has been rocking the city after returning from their national tour last year and will now kick of 2014 with a trip to Cape Town to perform at this year’s “Up The Creek Music Festival” this weekend.

Chillie Stent, the trio’s singer and guitarist said, “The highlight for 2013 was definitely our national tour where we performed in most of the towns and cities South Africa has to offer. The tour lasted over a month and was quite hardcore with loads of travelling, late nights, early mornings and rocking and rolling.”

Chillie said it was really amazing to be able to travel around this country and meet such diversely awesome people along the way. “Every show was a new one to look forward to and get excited about in a new setting, however, 2014 holds us in studio until we are ready to release the new album. We’re half way there, but the creative process is something we don’t like to rush. The songs must happen as they come,” she added.

When they are not rocking out on stage themselves, the band enjoys some great, local, original music and sound at LiVE The Venue. “At LiVE they are all about the music, its more of a concert venue than a place for people to get wasted, which is something Durban seriously should consider a massive asset! Besides, it also just happens to be a great venue to put on a solid hard rocking show and, in my opinion, one the best venues for live music in the country and its right here in Durban!”

The group of Durbanites also enjoy cycling. “Our favourite thing to do is to mission our bikes down to the beachfront and ride from Ushaka right through to Blue Lagoon and back. It is a great atmosphere with fantastic weather all year round, beautiful setting!”
