Alert metro police arrest three

The police hope to link three criminals to other cases of car breaking on the Berea.

THREE men, suspected of being part of a car breaking syndicate were arrested by the Metro Dog Unit on Friday.

The officers, Insp Jason Manggos, Const Lee Bryant, Const Steve Bosch and Insp Mandla Gumbi, were on patrol in Berea when they noticed a white Golf with three men in it.

“We decided to pull the vehicle over and search it. When we searched the vehicle, we found three remote jammers, one allen key, four bank cards and one VW car key,” said Insp Manggos.

The men were arrested for car breaking and being in possession of suspected stolen goods, and charged at Berea SAPS. The car was impounded.

Insp Manggos said the men’s fingerprints would be run to try link them to other cases.
