Four rescued after boat capsizes

Durban NSRI volunteers rescued four men after their boat capsized near the entrance to the Durban port on Thursday.

Four men were lucky to escape injury after their boat capsized near the harbour at noon on Thursday, 28 November.

According to Clifford Ireland, NSRI Durban station commander, the Durban volunteer sea rescue duty crew sent their sea rescue craft Megan II to respond and assist following reports of a boat capsized with four men on board at the South breakwater harbour entrance to the Port of Durban.

“A police Sea Borderline boat responded and rescued all four men from the water and brought them to shore where ER24 paramedics assessed them medically, they were not injured and they required no further assistance. Our NSRI sea rescue boat also recovered their boat successfully,” he said.
