Tranquil forest garden tour

Don't miss the tour of a tranquil forest garden in Cowies Hill with the Botanical Society.

BOTSOC, in collaboration with Cowies Hill garden tours presents a tranquil forest garden owned by Rob and Jane Crankshaw.

Rob and Jane started planting indigenous trees 22 years ago in the shade of large exotics in their garden. Over time, as the understory developed, Fiddlewoods, Brazilian Peppers and Jacarandas were removed. This charming home now boasts a garden with sheltered walks that wind their way through a forest of about 80 indigenous tree species, and over 200 indigenous plant species overall, plus some exotics.

Tours of up to two hours in total will start promptly at 8.30am, 10.30am and 2.30pm respectively.

Booking and pre-payment are essential. Members R45, non-members R50 and children R25. Price includes tea and cake. Proceeds to branch projects.
