Bringing joy to the elderly

Help bring a smile to senior citizens this festive season.

THE Robin Hood Foundation’s Bless a Granny and Grandpa campaign is in full swing. The foundation will visit local old age homes to give grannies and grandpas a gift, to show them some love and to bring a little joy into their lives.

Every year, the Robin Hood Foundation team is humbled by the simplicity of the requests received from senior citizens living in old age homes – for a Kit Kat, toilet paper, coffee or Handy Andy.

This is your invitation to get involved and be part of the Christmas magic by making the wish of a senior citizen come true.

For many folk in old age homes, Christmas is a particularly sad time of the year, when they miss their families who have either emigrated or who do not visit often.

Many folk in old age homes have the basic necessities, such as food, shelter and care but they lack the extras such as sweets and treats and certain toiletries.

To get involved email the Robin Hood Foundation to receive the name of a specifically selected granny or grandpa and their wish list.

You can also provide a generic gift for a Granny or a Grandpa, gifts are to be to the value of R125.
