Fans ready for World Cup qualifier

Tickets for the Brazil Fifa 2014 Qorld Cup qualifier at Moses Mabhida on 7 September between Bafana Bafana and Botswana, are on sale now.

SOCCER fans are looking forward to next month’s Brazil Fifa 2014 World Cup qualifier between home team Bafana Bafana and Botswana at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Tickets for the crucial match are on sale for R50 and R100 at all Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and Shoprite/Checkers outlets in the province and countrywide. The game will be played on Saturday, 7 September 2013. Kick-off is at 3:30 pm.

“This is an opportunity for the Durban and KwaZulu-Natal to showcase the rich cultural diversity as part of its heritage and national pride and every effort must be made to galvanise support for our home team. I appeal to all citizens to go out and get their tickets,” said eThekwini Mayor, James Nxumalo.

Organisers of the match in Durban are excited and confident of strong and enthusiastic support for the home team. “This is about national pride and being South African. This all important match is being played during Heritage Month, and Bafana Bafana is our national heritage. We urge all soccer fans to fill up the stadium and get behind our team,” said Dr Musa Gumede, Deputy City Manager of the Community and Emergency Services Cluster.

The Bafana Bafana squad is expected to be announced by head coach Gordon Igesund next Tuesday in Durban.

“Planning for the big game is on track and the usual logistics for a game of this stature are in place,” said Vusi Mazibuko, Stadium Manager for Moses Mabhida.
