Port Festival a hit

Durban Port Festival celebrated All Things Heritage in the harbour.

THE focus was on diversity as the Durban Port Festival celebrated All Things Heritage in the harbour at the weekend.

Festivities kicked off on Saturday with a parade after which port-goers boarded and toured SA Navy ships, tugboats and other watercrafts stationed at the N Shed passenger terminal. There was also a showcase exhibition of maritime careers and opportunities for small and medium businesses.

The main festivities were in the vicinity of Royal Natal Yacht Club where visitors enjoyed guided tours at the Port Natal Maritime Museum, live entertainment, a mini market with arts and crafts stalls and children’s entertainment.

The event on Sunday started off with a free 5km fun run followed by yet another day of entertainment.
