IT’S time for dads to step into the spotlight as we celebrate the father figures and rolemodels in our lives on Father’s Day, Sunday, 17 June.

Berea Mail spoke to some local children about why and what they love most about their dads.

My dad likes to… Quade Gertenbach (5) “My dad (Steven) likes to play cricket and likes to play with me.”

My dad is strong because…. Ella Petersen (5) “My dad is strong because he eats a lot of food.” She said her dad, Kerwin, is also strong because he fixes her bike.

The meal that my dad cooks the best: Cooper Lund (3) “My dad (Dustin) cooks pizza and chicken and chips the best.”

I love my dad because… Madison Monks (6) Madison said she loves her dad, Garth, because he has a ‘sweet heart’. “My dad takes care of me nicely and is the best dad I could ever ask for.”

If I could buy my dad anything in the world it would be… Alexis Dickson (5) “I would buy my dad (Llewellyn) a cup with a flower on it.”

My dad likes to… Christopher Georghiou (4) “My dad (Jason) likes to do work and play with me.”

The meal that my dad cooks the best: Laranya Naidoo (4) “My dad (Pramesh) cooks me spaghetti bolognese. It is my most favourite ever food.”

My dad is strong because… Jamie Lee Poona (6) “My dad (Shaun) is strong because he picks me up and throws me in the air.”

I love my dad because… Kyle Domah (5) “I love my dad (Mukesh) because he is fun and plays with me.”

If I could buy my dad anything in the world, it would be… Isabella Ross (3) “I would buy my dad (Sean) pizza and sweets.”
