Gardens hosts Festive Trail of Lights

The Festive Trail of Lights at Durban Botanic Gardens gives visitors the chance to explore this magically festive environment after dark, while supporting a range of KZN charities at the same time.

THE Durban Botanic Gardens was illuminated by colourful lights on Sunday, on the opening night of its inaugural Festive Trail of Lights event.

The event, which will run until Sunday, 24 December between 6.30pm and 9.30pm, gave visitors the chance to explore this magically festive environment after dark, while supporting a range of KZN charities at the same time.

Highlights of the event include a food garden serving a range of artisinal food, a chance to meet Santa and other magical Christmas characters in Santa’s Grotto, The Tree of Light, the ‘Talking Tree’ and the North Pole Mailbox where ‘letters to Santa’ can be posted. KwaZulu-Natal based charities involved in the event are also hosting an array of kiddie-friendly activities such as cupcake-making, face-painting, pony rides, sand art, ceramic painting and more.
