Rotary club Durban thanks knitters

Certificates of appreciation were given to the women in recognition of what they do to help the community.

THE Rotary Club of Durban held a tea at Blue Zoo recently to thank the Rotary Anns and knitters for their commitment to the club’s jersey project.

The Rotary club supplies the wool to the knitters, who live in various areas, who then knit jerseys which are distributed to communities in need every winter.

At the event, club president, Jimmy Lee, handed out certificates of appreciation to the women in recognition of what they do to help the community.

Sue Goldie, a knitter for many years, recently died, and her certificate will be handed to her husband in memory of her and her contribution to the project.

If anyone wants to join the project, they can contact Shirley on 083 259 4957.
