Parklands honours nurses

Nurses were treated to a special lunch and entertainment by learners from CURRO Embury College.

INTERNATIONAL Nurses Day was celebrated at Netcare Parklands Hospital on Friday.

Nurses were treated to a special lunch and entertainment by learners from CURRO Embury College.

At the lunch, matron, Marlise van Staden spoke to the nurses, encouraging them to never lose focus on what they want to achieve in their profession.

“Leadership is hard work and nurses are blessed with the natural ability to lead. In your personal capacity and in your profession, it is important to make things happen for others, stand up for what you believe in. It is critical that you know your values. Nurses need to have a legacy, and the question is whether you are living up to the legacy you intended to have. Strive to create a legacy in your nursing profession to lead the profession to new heights,” she said.
