DHS celebrations begin

DHS hosted a cricket festival to kick off its 150th anniversary celebrations.

DURBAN High School recently kicked off its 150th birthday celebrations with a cocktail function as a prelim to its 150th Cricket Festival which ran from 6 to 9 January.

DHS Old Boy, Imraan Khan, the top order batsman for the Sunfoil Dolphins, who matriculated in 2001, was the guest speaker for the evening. For Khan, attending the first of the celebrations was a privilege and a reminder of the proud heritage of the school.

It was also an encouraging reminder of the foundations of his successful cricketing career.

“It is such cricketing festivals that are springboards to future successes. I hope that 10 years from now we will see these boys playing for the Proteas,” he said.
