WATCH: Children treated to Christmas party

Children from the KZN Society for the Blind's Baumann House were treated to a Christmas party.

CHILDREN from the KZN Society for the Blind’s Baumann House were treated to a Christmas party today 2 December.

This is an annual event which the children look forward to, where Lorraine Scott from Lions Club of Durban South treats the children with toys as well as eats, and of course, a visit from Father Christmas.

Lorraine said the toys were donated to her by bikers from the annual Toy Run at the weekend. She has a soft spot for the school, and has been involved with the Society since 1984.

The children entertained Lorraine and their parents with song, and director of the KZN Society for the Blind, Bheki Jele, addressed all present and thanked the parents for entrusting the Society to care for their blind and partially sighted children.

Some of the children ‘graduated’ from the school and will go on to other schools in the area, including Open Air School.
