Spare a thought for Dalton Road children

The Rotary Club of Durban have erected the Tree of Happiness at Davenport Square this month to raise funds for Dalton creche.

THE community is invited to write a message of hope to a child at Dalton Road Creche this Christmas as part of a fundraising initiative.

The Rotary Club of Durban has erected the Tree of Happiness at Davenport Square for the next month (from Friday, 25 November) where shoppers can pay R5 and write a message of hope, motivation or inspiration to hang on the tree, to raise funds to buy much-needed items for the creche.

“The creche is in desperate need of absolutely everything. The children sit on a concrete floor and need carpets, food, training, toys and equipment,” said Rotarian, Ruth Maulson.

The tree is situated opposite the BBC Coffee Shop in the centre and will be there until 17 December.
