Police recover heroin capsules

A man was arrested for being in possession of heroin capsules.

A 63-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of heroin on Tuesday, 1 November.

According to provincial police spokesman, Lt Colonel Zwane, Cato Manor Crime Prevention officers were on patrol in the Bonela area when they received information about a man allegedly dealing in drugs. “The officers proceeded to the property and found a 63-year-old man,” he said.

He said the officers requested to search the premises and recovered 1 890 heroin capsules and R9 154 cash. The man was arrested and charged for possession of drugs.

The KwaZulu-Natal acting provincial commissioner, Major Gen Bheki Langa praised the policemen for their good work that led to the recovery of drugs and arrest of the suspect.
“Our members are always quick in responding to complaints. We urged the community to continue to report drug dealers to the police,” he said
