Get out and about in nature this weekend with Durban Ramblers Hiking Club.

GET outdoors with other hiking enthusiasts this weekend and explore local reserves.

Durban Ramblers Hiking Club will hike at Glenholme Nature Reserve on Saturday 17 September.

The group will meet at 1.45pm at the Kloof and Highway SPCA parking lot (bottom). The hike will be through the reserve and down to the waterfall and along the contour of the Glenholme gorge. Hiking poles or walking sticks are essential as are shoes with firm grip. Cost is a R20 donation to towards the upkeep of the reserve.

Grade 2-3 – moderate to strenuous with some slippery descents (vertigo warning). Distance is ±6km.

Amblers Hiking Club will hike in the Somkhanda Game Reserve on 16, 17 and 18 September, on a moderate game trail.

Sleep out with food and two game drives provided at R2 350. Hike with the game and sleep in glamorous tents on this magnificent slack packer.

At 2pm on 18 September, the group will hike at Giba Gorge Mountain Bike Park.

Meet at Giba cycle track for an interesting walk around the waterfalls in this restored valley lead by Wilbur.
