Downpours cause floods across city

HEAVY rains have caused flooding across the city and province with reports of a number of roads, gutters and pavements under water. Images of the flooding is being shared on various sites on social media.

Motorists are warned to drive extremely carefully as the rains are expected to continue until Wednesday (60 per cent chance) with no rain expected on Thursday and Friday according to the SA Weather Service.

Warnings of gale force north easterly winds later tonight and tomorrow, reaching a speed of 35 to 40 knots accompanied by high seas with 6 metre to 6.5 metre waves have also been announced by the Weather Service.
