A MAN is fighting for his life at a medical facility after he was shot when his car broke down on the freeway this morning.
According to Garrith Jamieson, the man is in a serious condition after he was shot at while parked after his vehicle had broken down with a mechanical issue on the N2 south-bound before the M7 turn-off around 7.40am this morning.
“Our paramedics responded to the call and on arrival found that a male in his 50s had sustained a single gunshot wound. He was in a serious condition and was stabilised on scene by advanced life support paramedics before being rushed to a specialist facility nearby for the urgent care he required,” he explained.
Jamieson said at this stage it is unclear why the man was shot after breaking down, however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
