Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a truck and a car had collided in the junction before the truck came to rest on its side balancing on the wall of a property.
“The truck driver and one assistant were severely entrapped in the truck as it lay on its side. Paramedics climbed into the truck and stabilised the two whilst Durban Fire and Rescue prepared the jaws of life and other hydraulic equipment to free the two,”explained Jamieson.
Once the patients had been freed from the truck they were then transported to a nearby hospital for the further care.
