Another DUT student falls to his death

DUT mourns the loss of another student who fell to their death this week.

POLICE have launched an investigation after a Durban University of Technology student fell to his death this week.

According to Alan Khan, senior director of corporate affairs at the Durban University of Technology, the student, Zamani Mchunu, who was living at the Seaboard student residence in Durban, tragically fell to his death from the 28th floor of the building on Tuesday night, 26 April.

“Mchunu was a first year public relations student in the faculty of management sciences at DUT. The university is assisting his family at this very difficult time. The family is based in Greytown. I am sure that you will join me in expressing our deepest condolences and sympathies to Mr Mchunu’s family and friends,” Khan added.

In February this year, another DUT student, Lindelani Godslove Myeza, a first-year student in the university’s management sciences faculty who was living in the Persada Residence, fell to his death from the sixth floor of his flat on the Berea.
